Over the past two years I’ve worked 60 to 80 hours per week
building DivaDesignWorld. Most of that time has been spent in meetings, in
front of the computer, or on the phone – all sedentary activities that frequently
involve wine or over priced banquet food. As a result I’m now suffering from Entrepreneurs Butt Disease (EBD).
My once firm and athletic build is slowly degenerating into
a pasty, dimpled mound of aging flesh. Giving birth to my children was easier on my body than giving birth to
this business has been.
Recently I decided that ‘enough is enough, I’m stoping this
EBD before I lose myself entirely.’ So,
I placed an ad online and found a female workout partner who is also a small
business owner. We train together four times per week. Having her as a workout
partner has been wonderful. When I’m
tired or feeling ‘too busy’, knowing
that she is counting on me to show up to the gym ensures that I overcome all
obstacles and get my daily lifting routine in. The time we spend in the gym is my time. It’s time when I unplug from
the matrix and reconnect with myself. It’s
also time to build a friendship with my new workout partner.
I enjoy lifting more than aerobics, running or any other
fitness pursuit. The reason? Because weight lifting delivers immediate results.
In the few weeks that we’ve been working out I’m already feeling substantial
strength gains. After every workout I
leave feeling stronger, more centered, and 100% empowered.
