Finding Reliable Childcare
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a parent that will watch their
little ones while they are work. How do you go about getting someone
that is trustworthy as well as not highly priced to watch your children?
Do you live near a school? Can you advertise your need there? Go to
the school, if you have a few moments in the morning and talk to the
secretaries. They might be able to give you a good lead on a babysitter
(most school secretaries know the dirt on what’s going on around the
community and who the good babysitters are).
If this is not an option for you, advertise in your local
paper. Sometimes if you are from a large city, your own local community
may publish a paper of its own. See if you can advertise there or if
again that isn’t an option, perhaps you can advertise in your regular
local paper.
If you are nervous about leaving someone new with your bundle of
joy, you can purchase a ‘nanny cam’. These can ensure that the person
you hired is doing the job you hired them for. However, in some states
it is not legal to use them without the person’s written consent. Do
some research and check it out to see if that is right for you. With
that being said, more daycares are using them as well.
Daycares are also a good alternative to hiring just one person and
having them in your home. Do some research and ask other parents that
have their kids there. Word of mouth is usually the best way of finding
a place that is reputable.
Either way you choose for your childcare, it will require a little
research and a little legwork to find the place that is suitable for
your child.
