At Skype.com you can download a free bit of software that enables you to talk to anyone in the world - FREE. All you need is a microphone and one of the following operating systems: Windows OR Mac OS OR Linux OR Pocket PC on your PDA. The person you call must also have downloaded Skype’s free software on their computer to make it work.

If your friend doesn't have Skype and you need to call a regular landline, the fees start at .017 cents per minute.

Skype also offers Free video calls. To be able to use this feature you need an inexpensive web cam, and your operating system must be 2000 or Windows XP.
