Single Women - Living Solo and Proud of It
In this day and age of the ‘couple’, there are many woman who either
by choice or not are solo. Some even desire this lifestyle. Many years
ago, being 30 and single meant you were a spinster, perhaps even
somewhat undesirable by males. Sadly, some single women still struggle
with this issue. Do friends tend to cast aside ‘singles’ after the
friend has become ‘coupled’?
Going out with friends who are ‘couples’, the single lady is
sometimes get either set up with someone’s friend or gets relegated to
the end of the table. Why is being single still such a stigmatism in
today’s society?
Most women who are single, either by choice or not, have picked up
their lives and are enjoying them to the fullest! These wonderful
single women tend to go to restaurants more, tend to go to theatres,
and pretty much everywhere else. They are often never at home. I know a
single lady who is in her 30’s, works at a prestigious university and
dates when she feels like it, goes out and plays tennis a couple of
times a week. She has a life that most married women would and do
envy. These days, if a single woman wants a diamond ring, she can go
out and buy one. With the ‘right hand ring’ being a popular choice
among women, diamonds are available for just about any woman. Other
expensive things like a new car? Why not? The single lady that I know,
has just about everything anyone could want, plus her freedom. How
great is that?
So if this is the life they choose to lead and are happy with their lifestyle, I say ‘More power to em!”
