Summer Fashion: Skirting The Issue

This summer I have decided to wear skirts. No more shorts or jeans or Capri’s. To be precise I do not want to wear anything that men can wear too. I love all kinds. The pretty flowing hobo ones that are so much of a rage right now are my favorite. No matter what kind of skirt I am wearing I always feel dressed up in it. I have also noticed that skirts make me feel very feminine. They tend to induce actions from me which run contrary to my basic tom boy behavior. When I am wearing a skirt I just cannot squat down on the sofa without worrying how my legs are showing. I have to cross them neatly as my mother told me to. The accessories for a skirt too lean towards making you feel the delicate and feminine. I just cannot wear my well worn sneakers which I love so much with skirts. I need those nice cute sandals to go with them. And with those long dangling earrings to complete the ensemble I feel as if I could walk down the runway in Milan to the music of ‘She’s got the look’. Well and I am guessing that with the Mall shops stocking on a wide assortment of skirts this summer it seems I am not the only who would like to get the look.  The only drawback of wearing skirts is when I take my daughter to the playground I cannot climb the monkey bars with her. Or maybe I should get a skort. Hmmm, wait till I run to the mall for one….
