At DivaDesignWorld, we often assist our clients with email
campaigns. This includes writing the copy, and setting the client up
with sophisticated email management software. Our clients are very
happy with the results that they receive from these campaigns.
DivaDesignWorld uses a system that ensures that our clients receive the results that they desire. Here are nine of our secrets.
1. An email that isn't opened is useless. Your first goal should be to
make sure that your email is opened. This is done by making sure that
the subject line of the email catches the attention, and piques the
curiosity, of the potential reader. Make a list of several different
subject lines, and begin by testing them. Which subject lines got the
best response? When writing the subject line, try asking a question
that will make the potential reader want to open the email to find out
the answer.
2. Once a person has opened your email, your second goal is to get them
to read the email in its entirety. Your opening paragraph determines
whether or not this happens. Start hooking the reader in the first
paragraph by addressing a want or need that you can fulfill - not how you will fill it, but that you can fulfill it. Make them want to keep reading to find out how you will solve their problem.
3. Use your email to tell a story. The obstacle that is revealed in the
story should relate to the reader's own obstacles. Show them how you
were able to solve this person's problem, and how that person's life
was enriched because of it.
4. Your prospect needs to be exposed to your offer on an average of
seven to nine times before he or she will respond. Start your campaign
by telling your readers that you understand what their problem is, and
how it is negatively affecting their lives. Build up from there,
letting them see how your product or service will solve their problem
and enrich their lives.
5. You want your reader to anticipate receiving the next email in the
series. Make them look forward to it. Build suspense at the end of each
email. Let them know what they can expect in the next email, but leave
them with a cliff hanger. They will be anxiously awaiting your next
email.
6. Offer your potential customers a free email course or ebook that
teaches them how to use your product to its fullest potential. Let them
know of the existence of this tutorial, and what it can offer them in
your email campaign.
7. Be honest about what your product is, and what it isn't. Build trust with your potential customers.
8. Use facts and figures. These are easier for people to believe, and
go along way in selling the product. Make sure that your facts and
figures are reliable, and that you can back up all claims.
9. Make your product or service exclusive, and explain to your
prospects why it is so exclusive. Everyone wants to belong to something
special, and everyone wants a better deal than others are getting.
These are strong motivators.
