The following is
the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions.Just
read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the
point.
1. Name the five
wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy
winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss
America.
4. Name ten
people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last
half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last
decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember
the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They
are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish.
Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their
owners.
Here's another quiz. See how
you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through
school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult
time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4.
Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5.
Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in
your life are not
the ones with the most credentials,
the most money, or
the most awards.
They are the ones that care.

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around
the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open,as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.
Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.
As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.
She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.
He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What
happened here today?"
She again smiled and answered, "You know every
day when you come home from work and you ask me
what in the world I do all day?"
"Yes," was his incredulous reply.
She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it." |

Love Yourself - Love Your Friends |
|

I am only as strong as the
cocktails I drink, the hairspray I use, and the girlfriends I have. Here's
to you! Why do we only have parties for each other when one of us gets
married, pregnant, has a birthday, or retires? What
would most of us do
without our sisters, confidants, and shopping, lunching and traveling
girlfriends? Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake! Pass this on
to your girlfriends! If you get this twice or more, you are lucky to have
more than one girlfriend. Be happy!
Someone will always be prettier.
They will always be smarter.
Their house will be bigger.
They will drive a better car.
Their children will do better in
school.
And their husband will fix more things around the house.
So let it go,
and love you and your circumstances.
Think
about it.
The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.
And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have
children. And the richest woman you know, She's got the car, the house, the
clothes....might be lonely. And the word says if "I have not Love, I am
nothing."
So, again, love you.
Love who you are.
Look in
the mirror in the morning and smile and say
"I am too blessed to be
stressed and too anointed to be disappointed!"
"Winners make things
happen.
Losers let things happen."
Be Blessed ladies and pass
this on to encourage another woman.
"To the world you might be one
person,
But to one person you just might be the world". |

Tipping Suggestions
It's always a good idea to show your appreciation and
say ‘thanks’ to people that have helped you in various ways throughout
the year. What you tip a person aduring the holdiay season depends on
several factors:
-the frequency and quality of the service
-your relationship with the provider
-your budget and where you live
If it someone who baby sits for you occasionally or watches your
child while you work, you can give them a days pay and a gift if you
wish. A present for your door man? You can give him anywhere from $10
to $80 (which is the acceptable amount). In fact, this site will help
you with all you with your holiday gift giving to just about anyone who
does anything for you. Consult it if you are in a quandary as to what
and how much to give to people that assist you in your day to day
living.
