Your Business Website
With so many people spending their days online and searching the
Internet for a plethora of goods and services, how can you make your
company stand out and entice the buyer to want to contact your
company? Why, your company’s website of course!!
There are several ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’ that you will need to know
before creating a website for your business. Of course, you want it to
be unique and grab people’s attention, how can that be done?
A definite don’t for a small business is not to spend too much money
on web hosting. If you are just starting out, you won’t have to spend a
lot of money on extras, such as 10,000MG (10GB) in space, so don’t get
it! Also purchasing a pre-defined package might not be a good idea
either. Your site is possibly the only business tool that people will
see and you need it to be developed to your specifications, needs and
wants. Also, don’t focus too much on eye candy (the bling bling of the
Internet), remember that your site is there for your business – the key
is that it is easy to operate, navigate around and if it takes too long
for your customers to load or is difficult to get around, well, we live
in an instant gratification world and if its not there, they will move
on.
Some do’s are to make sure that in your marketing budget, you have
money set aside for your site. If you don’t plan ahead, chances are you
won’t have the traffic you desire. Think about it, there are millions
of sites on the net, you will have to make yours stand out. Do provide
feedback as soon as possible. Importantly, do your homework! Research
companies before you commit your money to them. Also, you will need to
make sure that you keep your website up to date. Nothing looses
customers more quickly than a site that hasn’t been updated for months
or (gasp) even years! Would you want to buy their product?
I am sure this list only scratches the surface of what is needed to
be done to compose a great website. Talk to business colleagues, see
how they went about it and get their advice and who knows?

Are You A Good Boss
Everyone wants to have and be a good boss in the work environment;
it makes the job more enjoyable to be at on a daily basis. But what
does make a person into a good boss? Is it learned behaviour or does it
just come naturally to some people??
One thing that makes a person a good boss is the attempt to include
everyone in the team. A good boss treats each one of his employees
equally (no teacher’s pets, so to speak). A great boss encourages a
healthy environment which includes trust, respect, so each employee
feels that they are important and thus keeps everyone on the same page
when it comes to work. Being approachable while being aloof, friendly
while still being strict, able to think outside of the box a little,
but still use common sense
One of the hardest things for a boss to handle is office
politics. The trick is to deal with them before they get out of hand
and the best way to keep problems like this at bay or any type of
problems. If staff is allowed to vent, discuss, or talk about. This
would allow staff to cover any issues that they feel are negative and
do so without fear of retribution.
Instead of being a leader, be a coach. The great generals of wars
have not been afraid to make themselves equal with the men they
commanded. A good leader of any type of group, knows how not only guide
and direct their staff, but also gently point out important things that
they need to know.
It would seem that most good leaders are not born, but formed. Of
course, there are going to be bosses that are a natural, but for most
bosses, the route to become a great boss has been through hours of
management seminars and they have learned how to be an effective leader
by working hard. In fact, anyone can become a great boss, the trick is
to develop those traits to their best ability.
Finally, a good boss needs to be fair all the time, be neutral,
provide both constructive criticism and positive feedback. It is not
impossible to become a great boss, but for most, it does require effort.

Small Business Startup
Starting a new business can be an exciting yet scary venture for
just about anyone. Of course you might have some great ideas for your
business, but the first step that you might want to start with is write
a description of what your perfect life would be like, describe your
likes, dislikes, skills and abilities. Describe the hours that you want
to work and even your mission statement.
Next, you will want to create a business plan for yourself which
will include a summary of everything that will pertain to your
business. Subjects such as market research, competition, business
strategy as well as offering terms should be addressed, but it should
not be longer then a couple of pages. Following this, you will want to
touch on more minute details of your business idea.
Of course, funding is a main component of your business, whether you
get a small business loan, raid your savings, get a government grant or
borrow from friends and family. You will definitely want to get this in
place before you do anything. This will be followed by hiring a stellar
team of staff for your company, then developing a brand. This should be
something that sticks with the customer and something they ultimately
will identify your product with, so it is definitely more than choosing
colours and symbols – it has everything to do with even naming your
product and business. Think of some of the common everyday products and
how their names, colours are so identifiable. And it should go without
saying that the last item on your list will be marketing and selling
your product. Yes, planning a small business from the ground up will definitely
take both some legwork and time, but hopefully in the end, the results
will be well wo

Radical Change
Change is a part of every day life. Most would agree that change is
a necessary factor as it helps us to grow and become (hopefully) a
better person.
Of course, not all change is negative, some, such as a new job; baby
or a marriage can change your life hopefully for the better, but can
cause just as much of an upheaval as negative changes. Small changes
can also have just as much impact on a person as large, life altering
ones. I guess the key is how one handles these changes in their life.
First I think what is important is that you let yourself
grieve. Even good changes can disrupt your life because it will never
be the way it was before. Like for example, even when you move to a new
house that is in a better location and is bigger, you will still
remember and feel sad because of all the happy times you experienced at
your old house. This type of reaction is normal, even if it is a happy
time.
As we age, we tend to want to resist change, but unfortunately, that
only makes it harder on us. If we are rigid and against change, it
makes us like a boat in a storm – you can either go with the waves or
against them.
Don’t feel as if you your own island. If you need help dealing with
a change, get it. Change can either make you better or bitter. Try to
see the good in every change. It may not be evident at the outset, but
given time you will find it. It may be something more wisdom or that
this crisis has made you stronger, hang in there, it will come.
Know that all change comes to an end. The situation will become familiar to you in time.
Change is an unavoidable being human; it is up to you to make it positive.
